The World Health Organization (WHO) has said that India should work aggressively to prevent the corona virus epidemic. Mike Ryan, executive director of the WHO’s Emergency Health Program, spoke directly for India at a press conference on March 23 in Geneva, Switzerland.
Mike Ryan said- ‘India is a very large and densely populated country like China. The future of this pandemic (corona virus) will depend to a large extent on what happens in a country with a large area and extremely dense population. ‘
He said that it is very important that India take action aggressively. India should work to prevent this disease at the level of public health and society.
He also mentioned that India showed the way to the world in eradicating small pox and polio and did a great job on vaccination. Mike Ryan said that if civil society and community work together, India has a lot of potential. All countries have significantly more capacity.
He said that there is no easy way to deal with this epidemic, hard work is required and immediate work is required. It is much more important that countries like India lead. Show the world what can be done and they have done it before.
The number of infected people in the world has exceeded 3,82,000. The death toll in the world has crossed 16,500. In the US alone, more than 46,370 people have been infected with corona. While more than 580 people have died in America.
At the same time, new cases of infected people are continuously rising up in India. Till Tuesday afternoon, 523 people have been found corona positive in the country. Out of this, 10 people have died.
