Demand for online content is increasing rapidly during lock down. Platforms like Hotstar, Amazon Prime and Netflix are getting more users than ever before. Meanwhile, now in India, Disney + is also ready to knock.
Disney + is being launched in India on 3 April. Significantly, Hotstar has already been purchased by Disney. Hence Disney + will be available in India under the name Hotstar.
According to Hotstar, Disney + Hotstar customers can download Disney + Content Unlimited if they wish. All existing Hotstar Premium customers will be upgraded to Disney + Hotstar and a new charge will be added while renewing.
Disney + was scheduled to launch in India on March 29, but it was postponed and a new date has been announced. If you use Hotstar, then these changes will start showing from April 3.
For Disney + Hotstar Premium you now have to pay 1,499 rupees annually. Earlier, only Rs 999 had to be paid for Hotstar Premium. On Disney + Hotstar you will be able to watch content in eight Indian languages. These include Tamil, Telugu as well.
